Dental implants are the best option in replacing your smile, chewing function, and confidence. They are a screw type restoration that replaces the roots of your teeth and act as an anchor to hold up replacement teeth. Implants support your remaining teeth rather than adding stress to them like traditional bridges and partial dentures do. They look and feel just like natural teeth. For years these modern restorations have been out of reach for many people due to their high cost. Dental implants of San Diego is dedicated to changing that, making them affordable for almost everyone.
About Our Implant Clinic
Our doctors are board certified specialists, with over 20 years of experience in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. Our experience has led us to high success rates with easy recoveries for our patients.
4 Parts to a Dental Implant
1. The implant is a screw type restoration that replaces the root of the tooth and firmly anchors the crown, or restoration to the jawbone.
We only use premium dental implants made in the USA from one of the world leading implant companies that has been around for decades, and will be around in the future.
Many small foreign implant companies have entered the market , and have gone bankrupt leaving patients without replacement parts that may be needed in the future, their track records for long term success have not been established.
Make sure the implants you get are from a reputable time tested company.
2. The Abutment is the part of the restoration that links the crown, or tooth part of the restoration to the implant. Its shape mimics a natural tooth that has been prepared for a crown, kind of like an upside-down dixie cup.
At Dental Implants of San Diego we only use custom abutments that utilize genuine manufacturer parts.
Why is this important? Because one size does not fit all, every mouth and bite is unique, and “stock”, or one size fits all type of abutments do not account for the nuances of your bite, therefore will not wear or fit as well.
Genuine parts are important because the implant and abutment were engineered to fit in a precise way. Knock off parts are always less expensive, but never fit as well as the engineers intended.
Unfortunately many implants placed today utilize stock abutments, or non genuine manufacturer parts.
Ask your provider for custom abutments with genuine parts.
3. The Crown is the actual tooth part of the restoration. It can be made from many different types of material. At dental implants of San Diego, we only use top quality American labs, and will help you choose the crown that is right for you.
4. The Doctors assess your health and compatibility for dental implants. Once your exam, 3D X-ray and models have been done, they will pick the right size implant, and type of restoration that is custom made just for you. Make sure your doctors are board certified specialists with years of training beyond dental school at major American universities with decades of experience.
What is covered for $1969?
Our doctors evaluate your mouth and jaws, including any areas of missing teeth, existing teeth and surrounding bone of the maxilla and mandible. They create a customized treatment plan just for you. Any necessary dental models, radiographs or CT scans will be prescribed, and you will learn precisely how much a dental implant will cost you, without having to worry about any surprise fees. You will be part of the decision making when it comes to different implant restoration materials and aesthetics.
After learning about the dental implant process and procedure, necessary records and study models will be made. This can include a 3D CT scan that will be used to assist the doctors in planning for your procedure and fabricating any necessary surgical guides or interim restorations.

What is not covered for $1969?
Implants are basically screws, and like all screws, they need to be anchored to something solid to do their job. In this case it is jaw bone. Sometimes there is not enough bone to support an implant. In these cases bone grafting is necessary. The degree and types of bone grafting vary greatly and can only be determined on a per case basis. You will be informed if your case requires bone grafting, including what type, extent, and cost.
Sometimes implants are done to replace bad teeth that are still there. The extractions of these teeth are not covered in the $1969.
Most of our procedures can be done under local anesthesia, however some patients prefer to be sedated. This can be done for an additional fee.
Full arch cases
Some folks require replacement of all their teeth. These types of restorations are more complicated, with multipiece abutments that require more dental chair and lab time. Our prices for these types of restorations are very reasonable, but do vary depending on the number of implants and type of attachments that are right for you.
Unfortunately not all people are candidates for dental implants. Some have medical or dental conditions that do not allow implants to be successful. We will not force implants into a situation where success is unlikely.
We do not place the final restoration on the same day of implant placement. Implants need time to bond properly to the bone before a final restoration should be done. You will never leave our offices without teeth, but they may be temporaries. We are more interested in providing you teeth for life rather than teeth in a day.
Dental Implants are a great way to restore your chewing ability and smile. At Dental implants of San Diego our goal is to provide high quality implants placed by experienced providers at a reasonable price with an easy recovery for both your mouth, and your wallet.
